About the KwaZulu-Natal Economic Regulatory Authority

The KwaZulu-Natal Economic Regulatory Authority (KZNERA) is mandated to provide for the regulation and economic empowerment of the liquor and gambling industries in the province of KwaZulu-Natal. The legislative mandate of the KZNERA is to implement both the KZN Liquor Licensing Act No. 6 of 2010 (Liquor Licensing Act) and the KZN Gaming and Betting Act No. 8 of 2010 (Gaming and Betting Act).

Established by an Act of KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government, the entity plays a crucial role in promoting economic growth while ensuring that businesses operate within the legal and ethical frameworks established by the government.
